Our first trip to Bali was together, which was great fun. We left Adelaide on a cold, wintry September morning and arrived in Bali on a beautiful warm and sunny Wednesday afternoon. After clearing immigration and customs, we grabbed a taxi to our resort. The sights, smells and sounds of Bali were just wonderful and we were full of excitement at what awaited us.

Thursday was our first contact with our agent, and what a wonderful team we have in Bali. Sintiya, our account manager has over 200 suppliers we can use to source the type of stock we want to sell at Kalih. Over the next 7 days, with Leo, our driver, we shopped to our hearts content, sourcing all types of indoor and outdoor furniture, silver jewellery, timber and stone carvings and lots of beautiful homewares. During this time we totally immersed ourselves in the Balinese culture. We found the Balinese people to be so warm and friendly, greeting us always with a smile and making us feel at home. After all they have been through, this is so inspiring.

Our next shipment is due in early February 2007, and will include daybeds, display/book shelves, cabinets, silver jewellery, table runners, pots and a myriad of other unique and unusual pieces.
